The tasks to solve...
The channels of satellites, microwave and UHF radio relay systems, both analogue and digital modulated ones, are filled with sophisticated modems, faxes and time divisional aggregate signals.
These channels carry a lot of important information need to know to special agencies (intelligence services, law enforcement agencies, agencies against organized crime etc.).
... And how to solve it
Our firm’s experts with the experts of the Technical University of Budapest have designed the PCDSP card family to solve this problem, which are in production now. The PCDSP system has been designed to be easy to install into a normal grade IBM PC/AT or clone and easy to operate by a mid level educated operator as well. The architecture of the PCDSP card designed the put as many as the computer’s motherboard allows, so one can use more than one card on the same time for different tasks.
Our firm have produced systems containing eight PCDSP cards and a system like this can demodulate and record 8*2*46=736 telex channels in real time. But no any limit.
The recorded small programs can transfer over a suitable channel to remote locations, where the operator can load it to the computer and the PCDSP card at that location works on the same grade, as worked before at the analyzer post. It means, that customer needs only a few highly educated operators at a main location only.We have good test results on newly developed software, which can automatically detect the modulation and manipulation of a signal and reprogram itself for monitoring.

The main feautures of PCDSP card:
- two-channel 12 bit A/D converters with 100 kHz sampling rate
- two-channel 12 bit D/A converters with 100 kHz sampling rate and eight word FIFO
- two TMS320C25 DSP processor
- full speed operation (40MHz, 10MIPS/DSP)
- 32Kword zero wait state program memory for both processors
- 32Kword zero wait state data memory for both processors
- 64Kword hardware arbitrated three port (TMS1, TMS2, PC) global data memory for fast data transfer
- configurable memory mapping system (as PC extended memory) for program , data and global data memory arrays, and command array
- configurable interrupt system allowing high level flexibility
- multipurpose TTL input for monitoring external events
For the PCDSP card a lot of state of the art software have designed, containing our experts’ knowledge on electronic warfare, including not only the standard ITU-T modems and fax protocols, but modified modems as well in noisy circumstances we can get over radio channels. The fax decoder software can demodulate intercepted fax messages, not only whole, but partly recorded pieces as well without any handshaking signals. The operator can analyze and program and program the PCDSP card as a puzzle, putting together the elements of a modem for example carrier frequency, modulation, descrambler, and can save the result and later can reuse it again.
